Man in his 20s charged in relation to death of Dermot Byrne in Swords

The man is due in court tomorrow.

A MAN IN his 20s is due in court tomorrow morning charged in relation to the death of Dermot Byrne who died in the early hours of Sunday morning in Swords, north Dublin.

Gardaí said that they arrested and charged a 29-year-old man in relation to the investigation today.

A spokesman said: “He was arrested in the Dublin area. He is due to appear at Court 4, CCJ [Criminal Courts of Justice] tomorrow and is currently detained at Swords garda station.”

Gardaí were called to the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning where they found Dermot Byrne with serious injuries.

He received medical care at the scene but was pronounced dead soon after.
